Hi managers,
I have a dead mirror on a solaris 9 x86 software raid setup which is not
allowing me to boot the machine up unless the live disk is on it's own.
This is on a Sunfire V60x, the live disk is the right hand disk of the two.
Having replaced the failed disk with a spare I find if I have both disks
installed it says autoboot failed, booting from alternate boot device,
but it just sits there and does nothing.
If I remove the new disk then the machine says the same thing BUT I get
the boot prompt and the system boots bringing me to the stale metadevice
notification and the option to enter superuser password or press ctrl-D
to continue booting.
Can someone tell me what I should do so I can get the system to boot
with both drives in thereby allowing me to recreate the new submirror?
I have already tried swapping bootpath= and altboothpath= in the eeprom
command but this did nothing to help.
This is a mission critical system and I have bosses on top of me so any
quick assistance will be HUGELY appreciated!
Cheers
