last command truncated

Dear Sun Managers,

I've a Solaris 8 machine. When I ran last command, the
output is truncated. It stop at May 2002 and there is
no logging from May till July 2002.

What would be the possible causes? This is urgent
and would appreciate if anyone can shed a light on
this.
