Partitioning Quirk

Afternoon Managers,

Quick question about partitioning for you all.
I have recently come into contact with a new network of V210's and while
doing some configuration sanity checks i noticed something i'd never thought
about previously.

Many of the V210's have SVM mirror's set up and all seems fine, however
around three servers have the 2nd partition blank.
For example (two disks of same model in a software raid):

Current partition table (original):
Total disk cylinders available: 14087 + 2 (reserved cylinders)

Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
  0 root wm 825 - 14086 64.35GB (13262/0/0) 134954112
  1 swap wu 0 - 821 3.99GB (822/0/0) 8364672
  2 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
  3 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
  4 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
  5 unassigned wm 822 - 824 14.91MB (3/0/0) 30528
  6 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
  7 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0

Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
  0 root wm 825 - 14086 64.35GB (13262/0/0) 134954112
  1 swap wu 0 - 821 3.99GB (822/0/0) 8364672
  2 backup wu 0 - 14086 68.35GB (14087/0/0) 143349312
  3 unassigned wu 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
  4 unassigned wu 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
  5 unassigned wm 822 - 824 14.91MB (3/0/0) 30528
  6 unassigned wu 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
  7 unassigned wu 0 0 (0/0/0) 0

I didnt believe you should/could change partition 2. Any thoughts on what
effects this could have?

Regards,

Mark C
