Hi there
None of solutions on the web can't help me in this problem.
I have a solaris 8 x86 server and want to make a copy x86 server with another HW spec. ,therefore :
1) I've installed soalris on a new x86 system
2) boot from CD
3) mount each partition and restore each filesystem from tape backup and fsck
4) but at boot this message is appeared: "cannot create /var/adm/utmpx "
and system cannot go ahead with ctrl+d
5) I've checked the inittab , vfstab but any result ..
6) I've ran dvconfig ... but any result
7) I've installed bootblk and I think it destroyed the boot block
now I don't know what to do ?
