Hi,

I have a Redhat Linux as my Ldap and kerberos server. I need to get my
solaris 10 client authenticated with this redhat ldap/kerberos server.
Somehow I was able to get my kerberos client worked and get passwd
authenticated with redhat server. For this i am having user name (login name)
in my local /etc/passwd file on solaris 10 client.
But to get this solaris
client takes username from ldap i am facing problem. The way I am configuring
ldap client on solaris 10 is given below.

#ldapclient manual -a
authenticationMethod=none -a defaultSearchBase=dc=example,dc=com -a
defaultServerList=192.168.1.34

this cmd ran sucessfully and i than modify
nsswitch.conf to reflect the right info. as shwon below

# the following two
lines obviate the "+" entry in /etc/passwd and /etc/group.
passwd: files
ldap
group: files ldap
# consult /etc "files" only if ldap is down.
hosts: files dns
# Note that IPv4 addresses are searched for in all of
the ipnodes databases
# before searching the hosts databases.
ipnodes:
files
networks: files
protocols: files
rpc: files
ethers: files
netmasks: files
bootparams: files
publickey: files
netgroup: files
automount: files ldap
aliases: files ldap
# for efficient getservbyname()
avoid ldap
services: files ldap
printers: user files ldap
auth_attr:
files ldap
prof_attr: files ldap

Pls. suggest how to get ldap client working.
Thanks,

Umar
