Format command giving "error"

Hi Gurus,

I have a netra T1120 in which the root disk c0t0d0s2 had
failed due to which the system services switched to its mirror disk i.e
disk 1(c0t1d0s0).

Now when I am replacing disk 0 with a new disk it gets detected in
format but when I select that particular disk i.e c1t0d0s0 by entering
0, it gives me the following error:-

"Format: error not expected"

whereas I am able to browse the other disk i.e disk 1 through format.

We have tried this with two new disks and have replaced the disk
backplane too but the same result.

Is it some software bug... Please give your opinion as it's very urgent.

The OS is solaris 9 with 118558-08 kernel patch.

Regards

SS
