Hello Managers,

I just wanted to ask for your view, opinion about having a single Jumpstart
Server running Solaris 8 SPARC that would install Solaris 8 SPARC for some
systems and Solaris 10 x86 on other systems.

In order to jumpstart (JS) the x86 I have to use DHCP. My current JS server
(Sol 8 Sparc) jumpstarts other SPARC systems using good ol /etc/ethers and
bootparams (no DHCP). I would like to keep that method for SPARC and then add
DHCP for the x86 systems.

Do any of you for see any problems with a setup like that?
Provided I set it up correctly, do you see any problems with a Sol 8 Sparc js
server using bootp (/etc/ethers, bootparams) for Sparc AND using DHCP for x86
clients?

Thank you very much for your time.

Al
