Hi all,
I'm a newbie to oracle & trying to learn some basic administrative stuffs.... Anyway, I just install oracle 10g & create a dabase on a shared storage. The installation goes smoothly. However, when I try to connect into db I get ORA-01-31 error msg. I already research the error msg on both google & yahoo & see tons of responses. However each of the description don't fit into my issue.
I just install oracle sw & run dbca utility. Here is my info:
Oracle Name: ora10gdb
SID: ora10gdbSID (I do this for a reason that I can easily identify which one is oracleSID)
The env is setting up correctly.
vcs-test-phys1 #sqlplus /nolog
SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Wed Dec 20 10:42:28 2006

SQL> connect / as sysdba
ERROR:
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
SQL> connect sys/oracle@ora10gdb as sysdba
ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
SQL>
Does anyone have any ideas what do I have to do so that I can connect in as sysdba & start & shutdown oracle?
Also, this oracle db is in cluster. So if I start oracle on 1st node fine, what do I have to do to start oracle on 2nd node?
Any helps/suggestions are appreciated.
TIA,
-Chris
