RSC opinions needed

Hello Everyone,
I'd like to get your opinion on using RSC serial port vs. regular serial
connection.

Here is the situation: all my midrange servers come with the RSC boards
however we don't use them. Also I have several 240 series that have SC
integrated on the board so we use it because there is not other way. I
like the SC functionality, especially the "power on/off" function. I
also tested RSC over IP on one of my Sunfire 490 and it was fairly
simple to configure.

These are all high profile production servers and the access to the
console is crucial. If I decide to move the Cyclades connections from
the board's serial port to the RSC serial port I will need to convince
the management so I'd like to know about your experience with it and how
reliable the RSC boards are.

BTW. Do I need to reboot the server to set the NVRAM params
input/output-device to rsc-console?

Thanks a lot
Oskar
