Hi Gurus has anyone come across this problem before I am trying to
upgarde from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10
but I don't have the option to upgrade I can only do an initial install
I have found this which seems to be the problem
does anyone know if there is a way around this or will I need to do the
initial install
Reason 3:
SUNWusr is missing from /var/adm/softinfo.
brfhrev root >ls -l /var/sadm/softinfo
total 2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 28 Oct 21 17:34 INST_RELEASE ->
../system/admin/INST_RELEASE
None of the Solaris systems on site here (Solaris 2.6, Solaris 10 and 2
x Solaris 8) have a directory of this name
