Segregate Traffic Using Additional NIC

Sunmanagers,

I have a V1280 server which has multiple Oracle database instances on
it. I need to segregate the traffic from one of these databases onto
it's own physical network connection for the purpose of monitoring. My
initial thought is to light up the second interface (ce1) and give it a
different hostname, and point the tnsnames to the new hostname. This is
similar to implementing a multi-homed configuration, except that both
interfaces will be on the same subnet. What are the implications with
this and are there any risks associated in terms of routing with having
two interfaces on the same server on the same subnet? Is this even an
option? I'm also open to suggestions and options on how else to
segregate the data from this one instance onto it's own network
interface.

Regards,

Peter
