xpdf can be built on Solaris with the following sequence of commands.

        cd /usr/src
        gunzip xpdf-3.01.tar.gz
        tar xvf xpdf-3.01.tar
        cd xpdf-3.01
        ./configure --with-freetype2-library=/usr/local/lib
--with-freetype2-includes=/usr/local/include/freetype2
        make
        make install

On SPARC one could alternatively install Acrobar Reader from
www.adobe.com.

Thanks,

   Andreas
