Volume takes an hour to fsck on bootup why?

I have Veritas volume manager 4 installed on a Solaris 9 box and a
mirrored volume.

Whenever the system goes down hard one of my file systems which is 200gb
in size takes an hour and a half to fsck on bootup.

I have the log configured on this mirrored volume but it still takes an
hour and a half to fsck the file system. I thought that the log would
speed up the fsck and only go through the changes.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what could be causing it to
take so long to fsck?

Thank You.
