Hi All,
I am trying to install a network printer that prints an automatically
generated ascii file which is 80 characters across.
The printer install command I am running is :
/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p $PRNTNAME -o protocol=bsd -o dest=$PRNTIP -o
banner=never -o timeout=300 -v /dev/null -m netstandard -T unknown -I u2d
As you can see I am using a filter to stop "stair-stepping"
Everything works great except that the form that is being printed is 80
characters in width but the printer only does the first 78 characters.
I thought that perhaps I could force a smaller character set on the printer
so that it picks up the 80 characters within the paper width but can't find
how (or establish what charset I am currently using or have installed?)
Any other suggestions would be appreciated as any solution will be
considered except, I cannot install any 3rd party software onto this machine
so commands must be generic Solaris 8.
The printer I am currently printing to is a Dell 3100 but this may change
Any suggestions?
Darren
