Ops I just saw the "Add" GUI button (never noticed that before).
However feel free to answer still, since there may be hidden
pitfalls behind that "Add" button that awaits me. Regards.

Subject: Q: How to get Solaris (running under XP-VMWare) to see
externalresources ...

Hi:

I have Solaris 10 (nv49) running under XP-VMWare Server (but it just as well
could have been run under Linux-VMWare Server - so the following question
applies to both emulations).

Anyone have a step-by-step for the following questions:

(1) How do I edit the "*.vmx" file in XP and/or "/kernel/drv" config (and
perhaps other
Solaris) files so that I can get Solaris to see USB or FireWire disk drives
that are attached to the host computer (a laptop in my case).

Basically, I'd like to be able to do a "format -e(1M)" (or fdisk(1M)) under
Solaris and see these external devices.

(2) The same question applies to additional NIC interfaces (I have an extra
one that I'd like Solaris to see).

Thanks In Advance.

~Noel
