Problems creating a zone

Gurus,

I've created several zones before on some of my T2000 servers. I'm in
the process of creating some zones on dev box, a V280. I'm getting this
error:

cnedev2:/etc/zones#$ zoneadm -z mets-z1 install
Preparing to install zone <mets-z1>.
ERROR: the product registry database </> does not exist
ERROR: cannot determine the product registry implementation used by the
global zone at </>
ERROR: cannot create zone boot environment <mets-z1>
zoneadm: zone 'mets-z1': '/usr/lib/lu/lucreatezone' failed with exit
code 74.
cnedev2:/etc/zones#$

Here are the steps I have completed:

cnedev2:/etc/zones#$ zonecfg -z mets-z1
mets-z1: No such zone configured
Use 'create' to begin configuring a new zone.
zonecfg:mets-z1> create
zonecfg:mets-z1> set zonepath=/mnt01/zones/mets-z1
zonecfg:mets-z1> set autoboot=true
zonecfg:mets-z1> add net
zonecfg:mets-z1:net> set address=150.125.12.41
zonecfg:mets-z1:net> set physical=eri0
zonecfg:mets-z1:net> end
zonecfg:mets-z1> verify
zonecfg:mets-z1> commit
zonecfg:mets-z1> exit

I searched google and came up only one hit, where a guy moved /var/sadm
to a different partition and did a symlink but eventually moved it back.
Not sure what that really accomplished.

Anyone seen this or have any idea what is going on?

Cheers,

Jim
