Hi,
I have a Solaris 2.6 machine which has the following running ( as
started by /etc/init.d/init.snmpdx ) :
-+- 00001 root 1:10 /etc/init -
\-+- 27951 root 0:00 /usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx -y -c /etc/snmp/conf
\--- 27964 root 0:00 mibiisa -p 35504
I didn't modify /etc/snmp/conf or any other snmp-related file.
This machine has been previously migrated from public to private IP
space, and currently there's no routing to that public IP space.
Every night at 1am I see in the firewall log file denied packets from
Solaris machine to multiple addresses on the now extinct public IP
space.
I searched for strings in every local file on the Solaris machine, but
couldn't find where snmpdx finds those IP addresses.
Any ideas?
Will summarize
Igor
