Thanks Casper for the reply. If anyone else owned a X4100 with slow booting
problem, the following interim fix may be in help.

Yes; it's an issue with the emulated "AMI USB" floppy which does
respond to certain commands so the kernel times out.

Workarounds include adding the following line to /etc/system:

        exclude: drv/scsa2usb

(but this disables the use of any USB disks)

Or adding the appropriate magic to /kernel/drv/scsa2usb.conf.

(His is now automatic in Solaris Nevada as of build 46.

(I believe a BIOS fix is also in the works)
