Dear Sunmanagers,

I am looking for the following features in Solaris 8 for SOX compliance.

1. Option to set password history to 5 so that user will not be able to use
previous 5 passwords.

2. Maximum number of failed logins to 5. If 5 attempts failed, the account
should get locked out.

3. Trivial passwords . ie the system should not accept a predefined list of
password. eg: company name

4. Automated session timeout after 1800 seconds of inactivity.

5. Password Policy Compliance is continuously enforced. Every time a user
logs in and if there is a change in policy, system should prompt for a
password which matches the current policy. For eg: earlier password length
was 6 and now policy changed to 8. Any user who logs in after the policy
change should be prompted for password change.

I could find options 1, 2 and 3 available on Solaris 10. Is there any option
by which same thing can be enabled on Solaris 8.

I will summarise.

Thanks

Biju K Joseph
