X2100 serial connection

I am installing a X2100 and am unable to get a serial connection into the box. I have attached a USB kybd and monitor to redirect the console to COM 1 in BIOS. I am using the Silver RJ-45 to serial connection adapter that comes wiht the box.
 
Anyone have ideas.
