hi all

well after a long nigth, I know I need help. Here is my setup

SunOS host 5.9 Generic_117171-15 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-480R
2 x T3+ (T3B Release 3.2.3 Wed Dec 14 12:04:38 PST 2005 )
plus 2 x StorEdge SanBox-8

Two volumes on the T3+ "sliced" with volslice, luns defined on top of that.

volslice list

volslice create s0v0 -z 11GB v0
volslice create s1v0 -z 11GB v0
volslice create s2v0 -z 11GB v0
volslice create s3v0 -z 11GB v0
volslice create s4v0 -z 11GB v0
volslice create s5v0 -z 11GB v0
volslice create s6v0 -z 11GB v0

volslice create s0v1 -z 11GB v1
volslice create s1v1 -z 11GB v1
volslice create s2v1 -z 11GB v1
volslice create s3v1 -z 11GB v1
volslice create s4v1 -z 11GB v1
volslice create s5v1 -z 11GB v1
volslice create s6v1 -z 11GB v1

volslice list

Mapped to both HBA. WWN was obtained from

# luxadm -e port

Found path to 3 HBA ports

/devices/pci@8,600000/SUNW,qlc@1/fp@0,0:devctl CONNECTED
/devices/pci@8,600000/SUNW,qlc@2/fp@0,0:devctl NOT CONNECTED
/devices/pci@9,600000/SUNW,qlc@2/fp@0,0:devctl CONNECTED

# luxadm -e dump_map /devices/pci@8,600000/SUNW,qlc@1/fp@0,0:devctl

Pos Port_ID Hard_Addr Port WWN Node WWN Type
0 1001c9 0 50020f230000f67d 50020f200000f67d 0x1f (Unknown Type)
1 1005ef 0 210100e08b3401c4 200100e08b3401c4 0x1f (Unknown Type)
2 100001 0 210000e08b09ef21 200000e08b09ef21 0x1f (Unknown Type,Host Bus Adapter)

the WWN of the T3 is visible there

but not here

bash-2.05# luxadm -e dump_map /devices/pci@9,600000/SUNW,qlc@2/fp@0,0:devctl
Pos AL_PA ID Hard_Addr Port WWN Node WWN Type
0 e8 1 e8 21000004cfe4ec86 20000004cfe4ec86 0x0 (Disk device)
1 ef 0 ef 21000004cfe4e032 20000004cfe4e032 0x0 (Disk device)
2 1 7d 0 210000e08b000000 200000e08b000000 0x1f (Unknown Type,Host Bus Adapter)

more work on the T3 for the "lun mapping "

and the "zoning" was finished ... but still cannot see the disk with the "format" command.

Double checking the job I had found that SunSurfer pretends un upgrade (flash) of the switch.

Other than that, any ideas of why I cannot make the disk available to the server ?

tks so much

# lun wwn list

# lun perm lun 0 rw wwn <host HBA>

etc.
