Solaris 8 host using qlogic 2300 hba does not get sync status from Brocade silkworm3800

Hello Sunmanagers,
   
  This is my scenario. I am using a qlogic 2300 hba using the qla driver v5.01 firmware version 3.3.1 the host is Solaris 8 2/04 and the san foundation package is installed I don not know if it makes a difference if its there since I am using qla and not the qlc driver. I can link up to the brocade switch but I am getting the follwing error no sync on the port has anyone seen this before.
