Hi All. We've done a bit of research on swapping SCC cards between
models. some articles I've come across stare that the SCC will be
rewritten by the new machine, since it is a difference architecture. I
thought that the cards were write once, but this does not seem clear at
this time.
We would like to shift one from an V240 to a V100, this is to shift
a FlexLM setup to another host easily. The only piece of data I'm
concerned with on the card is the hostid, which is what everything ties
into.
My query is:
1) Can you switch between models?
2) Does anyone know if this part of the card is preserved when the
switch is made?
3) What do you lose? I know there are more MAC addresses in a V240
card, but is this stored or calculated?
Thanks,
Eric
