Hello,
I have two suns Fire V880 running Solaris 9 , one is setup as a nis
server and this machine sharing with auto-direct the /usr/local e
/home (automounter) with another sun that is setup as a nis client. I
need that one server will be a backup to other . For this i thought
change the server from nis client to nis slave , if the nis master
down another server authenticate the users. For the /usr/local problem
i thought to copy periodically de /usr/local from server master to
slave.
This works? What's the attention that i need to have for do this?
If i setup a nis client to nis slave i lost the local users in nis client?
