Hi!

I have the following Sun Sparc:

Sun Ultra 2 UPA/SBus (2 X UltraSPARC-II 296MHz), No Keyboard
OpenBoot 3.11, 384 MB memory installed, Serial #9707125.
Ethernet address 8:0:20:94:1e:75, Host ID: 80941e75.

and it have a ethernet port hme0 and I have a very strange problem.

I can configure the hme interface well:

# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=1000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 8232 index 1
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
hme0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500
index 2
        inet 1.2.3.4 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 1.2.3.255 ether
8:0:20:94:1e:75
# ping 1.2.3.4
1.2.3.4 is alive

I connect the Sun to a PC using a cross-over ethernet cable; when the
system reboot the link on the PC brings up, but before "configuring
IPv4 interfaces: hme0." os message, the link goes down. After that, I
connect the sun to the network but I can only ping to my local hme0
IP.

It's very stange, because when the cable was removed from the sun, no
messages regarding "link down problem" was reported.

Any ideas of what can be done ?

Thank you very much in advance...

Rodrigo.
