installation of new zone: Copying <0> files to the zone.

Dear list,
On one of our production servers (Sunfire v20z) with Solaris 10_05 I
cannot install any new zones. Currently there are 4 non global zones
running on that server without any apparent problems but adding a new
one fails each time.

# zoneadm -z dns install
Preparing to install zone <dns>.
Creating list of files to copy from the global zone.
Copying <0> files to the zone.
Initializing zone product registry.
Determining zone package initialization order.
ERROR: package <SUNWcsu> is not complete: skipping installation of package
ERROR: package <SUNWcsr> is not complete: skipping installation of package
...
ERROR: package <SMCreadl> is not complete: skipping installation of package
ERROR: cannot determine dependency ordered package list from package
repository </var/sadm/pkg>
ERROR: cannot generate dependency ordered list of packages from global
zone </var/sadm/pkg>
ERROR: failed to initialize packages from global zone </> to zone
</zones/dns2/root>
ERROR: cannot copy and initialize packages from global zone to local
zone <dns> path </zones/dns2/root>
ERROR: cannot create zone boot environment <dns>
zoneadm: zone 'dns': '/usr/lib/lu/lucreatezone' failed with exit code 74.

The obvious problem here is that the install process doesnt copy a
single file into the zone and of course this leads to all the failures
further along. The machine is kept up to date using the pca (Patch check
advanced) patching utility so all Recommended and Security patches are
installed.

Has anyone encountered such problem before or can anyone point to a
(hardware) problem that could cause this? The xml file created by
zonecfg looks normal, nothing really has changed on the server except
the installation of new patches. The only other problem on the server is
that the Sun Management Center agent on the global zone freezes
regularly, on the non-global zones it runs fine. This leads me to
believe there is some kind of corruption but I have no idea where to
start looking. Since its a production server it is rather urgent that I
fix this problem. While waiting for any help I will start with a backup
restore on a spare machine and or a clean install to see if that fixes
the problem.

# uname -a
SunOS radon 5.10 Generic_118855-15 i86pc i386 i86pc
