how to print page list with lp?

hello all,
in man lp, there is an option:
     -P page-list Prints the pages specified in page-
                             list in ascending order. Specify

so we did (file.ps has 200 pages):
lp -d hp4050 -P 1-10 file.ps
but it prints all pages!

we are on solaris 10.

Anybody know if it possible?
