Hey all;
This morning our sendmail servers started to misbehave. We're running
sendmail 8.13.6 on Solaris 9, and sending all inbound mail to a server called
"exchange.ourdomain.com."
Fundamentally, the problem is that sendmail is repeatedly trying to look up
exchange.ourdomain.com in DNS and failing (as it should). Once in a while
it gets the proper address presumably from /etc/hosts, but then keeps going
back to DNS. Right now, roughly 90% of our email is getting stuck and not
getting through.
Any ideas? This is a disaster in the making.
Thanks,
Colin
