Thanks to Wetterrer Robert for this his reply and pointing me in right
direction. I have disabled one port of FC HBA from mpxio ( using
/kernel/drv/fp.conf) and got the Fabric tapes detected on that port. Why the
problem happens with mpxio is a mystery !!!!
Thanks
Ayaz

I had this exact same problem with a customer last week. You need to disable
multipathing on the hba. You can disable it for the whole system by typing
'stmsboot -d' and rebooting, or you can edit the /kernel/drv/fp.conf file
and disable it only on the specific hba. A reconfiguration reboot afterwards
should do the trick. Devfsadm may also work. It's a mystery to my why it
worked on some oif your hosts. Sun Traffic Manager (STMS) is enabled by
default on Solaris 10.
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Guys !
I have a SL500 with two FC drives connected to 4 solaris 10 servers though
brocade switches. At the moment there is no zoning on the brocade switches.
I am able to see the tape drives from all the solaris 10 boxes using the
cfgadm -al and luxadm commands.
On one of the server I modified to st.conf file to scan for 15 targets and
two luns on each target followed with a reconfiguration boot which got the
/dev/rmt links created for those two drives. However the same procedure is
not working with remaining four servers although I can see the tape drives
using luxadm and cfgadm commands on all the servers !!!!!
Any suggestions
Ayaz
