Hi all,
I have been setting up a 280R with Solaris 9 for use as a database
server and I have noticed a problem/annoyance with large directories.
We have some directories that have a minimum of 10,000 files and when
doing ls to the directory the listing comes back really choppy.
Thinking that the problem might be due to disk I/O, I have directed the
output to a file and the prompt comes back almost instantaneously. Is
there a buffer setting that I am not aware of that needs to be increased
or something?
TIA,
