Hi,
As a starter in the field of performance tuning, i am interested in
knowing a few things about the Maxphys and Maxcontig parameters.
1. How increasing the maxcontig can improve I/O performance of a file
system. Latest release of solaris do not have a dependency between
maxcontig and maxphys, then how can we control the size of I/O request
to a UFS file system.
2. If we increase the maxcontig, having maxphys lesser than maxcontig,
what would take the precedence.
3. Is there are any driver( scsi ) limitations for the max I/O that can
be carried.
