LOM on a 1400

Ok, a problem came up requiring LOM capability to power cycle a remote
1400 server. Unfortunately, although the DB-25 serial port is cabled to
a terminal server (old Xyplex) allowing remote reboots through the OBP,
the RJ-45 on the LOM card is not cabled. This is because the site has
no spare ports for us to use on the term server.

On the newer boxes, ie 440s, 240s, 120s etc that have LOM & Console on
one port I issue the #. (pound-dot) sequence to jump into LOM mode and
then "console" to go back to the obp prompt.

I have tried doing this on a test 1400 in our lab when cabled to the LOM
jack or the Serial port and I cannot get the same functionality.

So my question to the wizards is... Is there any way to accomplish this
on a 1400 using just one connection or am I forced to cable both ports
and access one or other individually through the apropriate term server
port. Or am I missing some not-so-obvious solution like a jumper or
firmaware settting to enable this?

Thanks in advance
Jon
