OpenSSH_3.4p1, prngd, Solaris 2.5

Hi,

I'm slowly being driven to distraction trying to get an OpenSSH_3.4p1
client to work on a Solaris 2.5 box (SPARCstation-10). Originally the
upgrade to OpenSSH_3.4p1 saw neither sshd nor ssh behaving. Both simply
gave the following error message:

Couldn't connect to PRNGD socket "/usr/local/bin/egd.pl": Socket operation
on non-socket
Entropy collection failed
ssh-rand-helper child produced insufficient data

I've now done a fresh install of OpenSSH_3.4p1 and sshd fires up fine.
But the ssh client still issues the same message as above.

What I find strange this is that the install was pointed at
'/var/run/egd-pool' as the socket/pool and not '/usr/local/bin/egd.pl'.
Prngd is running and 'egc.pl /var/run/egd-pool get' indicates entropy in
the pool. The 'ssh_prng_cmds' file is installed in the new 'ssh' folder
(it wasn't previously and this have been unhelpful) and the 'ssh-rand-helper'
is in the default 'libexec' directory. Also the 'UsePrivilegeSeparation'
feature is in use.

Does anyone have any ideas about how the ssh client can be got to work?

Thanks.
