Telnetting to a console connection

Hello,

I've got a pair of servers that have just been moved away from the KVM
switch, monitor and keyboard. Rather than paying for a second display set
for these servers, I'd like to do something different. When I worked with
Chapter 11 Systems, I mean Silicon Graphics servers, we had a number of
servers where you could telnet to a console connection. It was something
like hostname.con. I'm sure I could probably get something like that
running on my two sun boxes, but I can't find a thing on google. Can
anyone point me to a website or online manual or something that details how
to go about doing this? I don't want to mess around with ALOM, but I will
if it's the only way.

Hopefully, I'd like to be able to telnet to the box to receive system power
up and shutdown messages and so forth, so I could fsck a disk that might
need it or stuff like that.

Thanks,

--Tom
