format display versus smc display

Oh Gurus of the Sun....

I'm fooling around with 4 V440's with 4 internal 73GB disks of which
only the first disk is being used (Solaris 8) and the other three will
be used for mirroring....

I know the metadb and other commands to do what I need to do from the
CLI.... but thought I'd mess around in SMC.

In tooling around in SMC, I saw that the extra slice I was going to use
for the metadb on disk 1 was WAY too large (around 800 MB) and I could
use the space... so I exited SMC and using format, changed the slice to
34 MB (and made sure I performed a 'label' before exiting) But when I
go back into SMC - not only does it still show the slice as being 800MB,
when I go to create the replication databases - I can't even select that
slice! what gives?

Just to make sure SMC wasn't caching system info... I stopped and
restarted wbem....

but SMC still shows the old stuff.... any ideas?

I can do all this stuff via CLI - but wanted to get a feel for the SMC
GUI....

Thanks!!
