Just installed Solaris 10 X86 6/06 onto a Sun W1100z which did have
Solaris 10 X86 FCS.
The issue below did not exist with FCS of Solaris 10.
This is one of two or more patches which after the Solaris 10 install I
had a higher rev of the patch than is available from Sun.
For example, the main kernel patch 118855. After installing the OS I had
118855-14 installed as part of the OS installation. As usual I download
and install the latest recommended/security patch cluster after a new
install. I got the normal errors that some patches were already
installed but received a couple of messages that the patches I had
installed were higher revs that the patch cluster.
If you go to Sunsolve and type in 118855 the highest rev available is
-02 dated Mar. 15th. But I have -14 installed?
How is that possible? What is Sun doing with their patches?
Thanks
John
