Hello,
I've a SunFire 6800 with 24 Processors and some domains working on it.
Now I have to expand the memory of one of these domains. This domain
uses 2 boards with a total of 8 processors. Right now I have 1GB per
CPU, i.e. 4x256MB DIMMs. That means each CPU has one full bank and the
domain has a total of 8GB RAM.
Now I received 4 Packages of 2GB (4x512MB) Memory and I have to return 4
of the old RAM packages. I.e. the new total memory will be 12GB. Cause I
can't spread the Memory even to the CPU's, I have to decide how to
dispose the RAM.
Do you have any experience which disposition will be the best
(performance) ?
For example I could share the RAM so that each board has the same amount
of memory, or should I expand only on one board. How should be the
sharing within a board (i.e. per CPU) etc. ?
