Temperature monitoring with SNMP

Hi,

I've got several Solaris hosts that I'm trying to instrument using SNMP,
and the pulling data using Cacti. I'd like to be able to report sensor
information with SNMP - temperatures, voltages, fan speeds, etc.

I'm tesing this on a Sun v40z, running Solaris 10 - I've installed the
Sun systems management agent on it, and I can happily pull quite a lot
out of it. Sun include the LM-SENSORS-MIB in the agent package, and I
can query for this data, but I get nothing back:-

# snmptable -v 1 -c public host .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.13.16.2
LM-SENSORS-MIB::lmTempSensorsTable: No entries

I know the sensors on the machine are working, as I can do "ipmitool
sensor" and watch it pull a list of all the data I'd like (though it
does this *far* too slowly). What I'd like to know is how I can convince
Solaris to export this data so I can query it via SNMP, and I'd also
like the data readout to happen in a relatively timely fashion -
waiting 45 seconds for each host isn't fun....

Any ideas much appreciated,

Mike
