Converting PDF to ascii txt in Solaris 10

Hi Sunmanagers,

I'm trying to work out a clean, automatable way of translating a PDF
file (containing only text) into a standard ascii text file on Solaris
10. I'm having a mess around with Ghostscript at the moment, but not
getting very far.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to approaches I could take, or apps
I could use?

NB: I am limited to freeware / open licence software only here - can't
use anything that costs money to use! :)
