Hi Gurus can anyone answer this please
We currently have a Sun V240, which when it was switched on a couple of
weeks ago the server did not boot up automatically. So a laptop was
connected via the 'serial management' port and we typed boot and the
system came up. We noticed that auto-boot in the prom mode was set at
false. This has now been changed to true and when we put a reboot in the
cron last night it worked fine. The problem that we have is with
disconnecting the laptop. Whenever we disconnect it from the server it
drop 2 network settings (quad card installed) - bge0 & bge1. If we
connect it back up they come back up. I've tried shutting the server
down, disconnecting the laptop and then switching the power back on. The
server's light come on for a while and then nothing happens. I then have
to reattach the laptop and it starts to run a load of diagnostics and
then boots up. The problem is we can't detach the laptop. Can you please
let us know what we need to do to be able to do this and stop the server
relying on the laptop connection
tia
