Veritas highly available

Hello,

I would like to test the following in my Veritas setup.

I have an objective of making Veritas highly available. Often times we
lose the server and end up having to import the Veritas disk groups to
another system. So, I thought of the following:

If my primary server crashes, I will boot my back up server with the
Same name, IP, and host ID. The backup server will have full access to
the storage array. I presume that my Veritas disk groups will come up
without having to import them to the new hardware since I maintained the
same name, IP, and host ID.

The problem SUN doesn't support changing the hostid (if you change it
they will not going to support you), do you have any other ideas?

I appreciate your input.

Thanks..

Best Regards,
