Hi,

I have been given an interesing project to complete.
We have 2 machines, gl1 and gl3, which communicate with
each other over dns. gl3 is the database server. I have
been asked to install 2 nic cards, give it another ip
address and hostname, so that all communication can happen
only between those two machines, over ethernet crossover
cable.

The steps involved so far are:

1. install the nic cards
2. connect the crossover cables to both the nics.
3. ifconfig <interface name> up
4. in /etc/hosts give another name & ip for each of the
machines so that they can communicate with each other.

Have i missed anything. If you'll could let me know.
thanks.
radhika.
