Integrating Active Directory and Directory Services

I would like to ask the group about any experiences they have had with
integration of Active Directory and Directory Services /LDAP.

We are exploring the possibility of authenticating against the active
directory for all logins. From some of the investigating that I have
done it can be done, but the maintenance aspect ( managing logins ) of
it looks to be a little labor intensive.

I was wondering if you could share your experiences ( the good, the bad
, and the ugly ) .
