Hi managers,
In our department a new directive will soon be introduced concerning the repacement of old FTP for SFTP (the one based on OpenSSH).
However, the older versions of SFTP are not fit to make a difference between ASCII and binary transports. I know the newer versions do have that feature (from which version on?), but we 're not using these on short term.
Sometime ago I even read in this letter an issue about older versions of SFTP damaging ASCII files.
So could someone tell me what is happening exactly to an ASCII file that is transported through SFTP?
Thanks, Kuba
