Hi everyone,
I have done this countless number of times without problem on earlier versions, but I
changed the name of a machine running Solaris 9 and it seems there are lots of
things depends on it. For example SMC does not work since it still wants to
connect to the old address. I don't know about other things that may not work. I do
not want to add the old name as an alias to the hosts file just to see what and where
has to be updated with the new name. I have changes the following files:
/etc/hosts
/etc/hostname.*
/etc/net/*/hosts
/etc/nodename
/etc/auto_home (apparently solaris 9 updates this)
and some more that I don't recall...
I appreciate any help and will summarize,
