Oracle RAC and Sun Cluster

Looking for feedback and document references that review pros & cons of
Oracle RAC vs Oracle on OS Cluster.

Also, I recently saw info regarding the release of Sun Cluster Advanced
Edition for Oracle RAC software....the few paragraphs I read about this
sound promising, but I'm not sure how long its been out or received in
the market?

Info I've read about or heard thru peers:

RAC requires:

-lengthy implementation time

-extensive performance testing

-performance issues for cache fusion / inter-node interaction

-possibly better where availability is by far the #1 requirement

We're at a point in a lengthy development project where we are making
critical Infrastructure Architectural decisions. The key decision
currently is whether to build vertical and use sun cluster for DB or go
horizontal and use RAC...I'm certain the best strategy depends on
application requirements. I will be attending several meetings starting
this Friday to begin discussions. So, I'd like to do some due diligence.
My background has been with sun cluster and oracle PDB from a while
back. Also have been exposed to sun cluster and oracle HA.

Will summarize...
