I'm trying to setup an iSCSI storage network
Solaris client (Initiator): fully patched Solaris9 with QLA4050c
Target: Provigo iSCSI Raid
I have created three different virtual disks on the target system
(500/100/10 GB). This three LUNs I can see from the Solaris client
with the iscsi commandline interface:
$ iscli -l 0 2
HBA/Target/Lun Number = 0/2/0
Vend = Transtec
ProdID = PROVIGO1100-ipst
ProdRv = 1.00
LunSize = 499.999 GB
HBA/Target/Lun Number = 0/2/1
Vend = Transtec
ProdID = PROVIGO1100-ipst
ProdRv = 1.00
LunSize = 9.999 GB
HBA/Target/Lun Number = 0/2/2
Vend = Transtec
ProdID = PROVIGO1100-ipst
ProdRv = 1.00
LunSize = 99.999 GB
Also with the solaris format utility I can see this newly created
virtual disks but with "drive type unknown" and the syslog message
"Corrupt label; wrong magic number":
AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS:

7. c4t2d2 <drive type unknown>
/pci@1f,2000/pci1077,124@1,1/sd@2,2
My questions:
- how do I have to label the virtual disk?
- how can I create a filesystem?
- does it have something to do with EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface)?
Thank you very much for any hints
