I've just acquired a number of Solaris 10 machines, both AMD64, and SPARC.
In the past on Solaris 2.5.2 and Solaris 2.8 machines, I've been able to
get a decent software build environment by just downloading and installing
the latest gcc, make etc from SunFreeware.
These Solaris 10 machines are causing me problems in doing that. I can
compile simple "hello World" level programs, but so far I've tried to build
Amanda, which failed with a syntax error in a system include file, and a
perl module, that insists on trying to use incorrect (and most like Sun
compiler specific) flags to GCC.
Whats the best/easiest way to get a decent build environment set up on
these machines?
