how long to erase lto2 tapes

Hi All,

Had an issue with a lto drive connected to networker - was replaced, now tapes
labled on the old drive have issues due to the block sizes differences with
certian lto firmwares.

I have been told to erase via mt all the tapes and then relable.

i have had mt -f /dev/rmt2 erase on one drive now running for 2 hours - can
anyone tell me how long this should take on an lto2 tape ?

oddly truss on the process shows no activity - can someone tell me how to
check for activity ( i am remote from drive itself )
