Can't get past LOM password prompt to enter OBP

Hi,

I have a Sun V120 that is up and running with Solaris 9, but I am trying
to get into the Open Boot Prompt through the serial port.
Unfortunately, when I tried to get in through serial port A (LOM) the
box is stuck at an LOM login prompt. No one has any idea what the LOM
password is, and has been keeping us from being able to get into the
OBP, so that we can jumpstart the machine.

I was able to come up with a workaround, by telneting into the box, and
then changing the console settings on the boot PROM through solaris:

# eeprom input-device=ttyb

# eeprom output-device=ttyb

# init 6

This will split your two console input ports, putting your LOM
exclusively on the A serial port, and the console on the B serial port.

When you plug in through the console now, you will still be prompted for
a password through serial port A, but serial port B will put you right
into the console. You can then send a stop command, and exit to the
OBP.

>From this point I was able to jumpstart the box like I was trying to.

For further explanation of splitting the serial ports, check out his

This worked around my issue, but I would like to know if anyone has a
real solution to getting past the LOM if you don't have the accounts for
it. I found some documentation about setting up the accounts in a LOM
config file, but this didn't work for me.

Thanks for the help, and hope this workaround is useful for someone
else.
